Traditional systems are inadequate for taking full advantage of the multiple sources of information that surround any specific product (s). An embodiment provides a third way to deal with the challenge presented by the social collaboration. Social collaboration typically takes place within the context of traditional silos. In essence, silos exist to separate the decision-makers from the vendors. By encapsulating decision-making in a discretely named resource, decision-making becomes localized, and decision making process becomes localized, as well. An embodiment provides a way of creating a social platform where decision-making and social collaboration can occur simultaneously. An embodiment based on the analysis of the product suggestions from the customer data stream would be able to provide the answer that the business needs in a timely manner. This answers the need to provide a product (s) based on the customer's (customer's) analysis of the existing market and offers the promise of a continuous revenue stream. In addition, the embodiment can provide the additional benefit of providing insights that help the enterprise to further refine its product (s) design based on the customer's (customer's) inputs. Again, this can help the enterprise to further reduce the risk associated with introducing new products and increasing the profitability associated with existing ones. In conclusion, we have looked at three key elements for a working decision-making platform. Embedded decision-making technologies allow users to access a repository of ideas and information, as well as the ability to make their own creative use of that information and the associated designs. These technologies also allow for the sharing of those ideas and designs with the community, resulting in a social collaboration within the organization. Finally, an embodiment provides the means by which the enterprise can provide its customers with real-time information and analytics about the state of the organization, as reflected by metrics provided by the underlying social collaboration engine. By combining these technologies and the appropriate vocabulary to describe the business, we believe that the description of an Ecosystem should provide a framework for companies to develop an internal Ecosystem of practice to improve decision-making.
